Rep. Steven Lindberg's Bio
EDUCATION
State Representative Steve Lindberg graduated from Gwinn High School in 1962 and received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northern Michigan University. Representative Lindberg also received a teaching certificate and master’s degree in guidance and counseling from Northern Michigan University.
WORK EXPERIENCE
After spending his junior year of college at the University of Michigan and his first year of teaching in Sheboygan, Wis., Lindberg returned to Marquette in 1968 to teach at the Women’s Job Corps Center at Northern Michigan University. He later taught in Marquette Area Public Schools and also worked as a guidance counselor there, retiring in 1997.
GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE
Representative Lindberg was elected State Representative of the 109th District of Michigan in 2006. In his third term, he will continue his work focusing on improving education and health care, creating family-sustaining jobs and caring for Michigan’s most vulnerable residents.
FAMILY
Representative Lindberg and his wife, Paulette, live in Marquette. They have one son, two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
